[Fashion]: 25th Anniversary Air Jordan

17 November 2009

The 25th anniversary addition might just be the most remarkable to date. The shoe pays special homage to His Airness Michael Jordan by featuring a transparent basketball shaped window in a body--representing Jordan's ability of "allowing the players to only see what he wanted them to see on the court," according to co-designer Tinker Hatfield. With its asymmetrical collar and Chicago Bulls colors, the 2010 makes another iconic edition to the collection that once inspired infamous sneaker jackings.
Nike didn't leave out the technical side either; for the actual ballers, the shoe's construction is designed specifically for optimal game performance. A layered toe and independent forefront support cover mimics an actual foot's flexibility and movement without being restricted by the shoe's structures, assisting in a player's ability to be more agile in the game.
Like Spike Lee said when trying to figure out in that immortal commercial, "It's gotta be the shoe."
The 2010 Air Jordan will be released nationwide Feb. 13, 2010 for a suggested retail price of $170
